02the dreamers

Two kids at fifteen, dreaming separate dreams. Dreamers together, fifteen years more.

2.1

dreamer

n., the first

One of two kids who met at fifteen. Wanted to be a cricketer; chose his next best passion. Twenty years of kitchens across India, the UAE and the UK, and a place in 'Capital Spice' (2012) among the best London-based chefs of the time. Chef and co-owner, Dhayalan Paul.

2.2

broadcaster

n., the second

The other dreamer wished for radio, and so she did: Saritha builds community radio stations for rural India through her own social enterprise, and is an alum of the School for Social Entrepreneurs, London. Now co-owner of the warm, happy place they imagined for over fifteen years.

2.3

butcher's

n., the old

The shop on Sandy Park Road that local hands turned into a twenty-cover dining room. Furniture pre-loved and in great nick, friends from Brislington and St Anne's on the tools, and a family dream finally given an address.

field note · Totterdown

We absolutely loved the delicious Pukka Peacock food... The vegan options we sampled were incredible. We've been dreaming about the crispy okra & mushroom filo ever since.

Dinner out on a school night, solved.

With a child of our own, we completely understand the challenge. So there is an early family seating with a children’s menu in tow: home-cooked classics for the little guests, while parents and guardians dig into another Pukka Peacock delight.
